Okay its not THE Pond - as some call the ocean. And it is not just A Pond - as in smaller than a lake. It is a lake! I enjoy living on it and spending time on my back porch listening to music, gazing at the lake and pondering.

More Old Photos

We cousins who have a heritage from the Clanton lineage have been blessed with GOOD parents. I am particularly proud of my mom and dad. As I have been transferring and organizing my digital photos I ran across the celebration of their 50th anniversary, 1998. This photo was "created" from two separate photos by Bill Roberts, one of my parent's good friends. (I just am trying to make it clear that I did not do it!) He sent me several pictures over the years but I lost his email address through a hard disk crash a couple of years ago. They say there is some truth in comedy so the caption Bill placed on this photo makes it that much more hilarious.

Going back a few more years - 1972 - this looks like a bunch of young folks who were really hip. You can tell by the way we were dressed. Let's see if I can identify from left to right: Trisha, Ron, John, Robb holding Shane, Jerry, Velinda, Linda, Sandra. The picture was taken in Jesse and Gladys' front yard.

Velinda reports they stopped by on their trip to take her for her Freshman year at Florida College. She looks so young! But I have noticed college Freshman look younger and younger every year.

Lastly, a photo of our Clanton grandparents, Otis and Lora, who got this thing going for us.

There will be more pictures later.

I Found Some Old Photos on the Old PC

Getting a new PC recently has caused me to be about the business of moving files from the old computer to the more roomy hard drive on the new laptop. All this work has caused me to uncover some real gems I had forgotten. You know, old photos scanned into digital files so they will fade no more. So I will share just a few here and I know there will be more at another time.

Some of us cousins with roots in the Clanton lineage have been sharing an email list for several years (kindly supplied by one of my sister's sons in law). And we have shared memories and photos and that is how some of these were obtained. This photo has several who are on this list. Believe me, they do not look like this much any longer. I understand this collection was discovered on a bulletin board at a post office in Bentonville, Arkansas. They are (from left to right) top row: Trisha, Dennis, Janie middle row: Stan, JoElla, James. bottom row: Linda, Debbie, Sandra.
They're a bunch...well, they're a bunch only a mother could love.

Next is a picture of some of their parents. This was taken in 1989. Uncles Jesse, Claud and Otis had already passed at this time but a few of the family had gathered and someone captured this photo.
Front Row: Gladys, Bernice, Emalene, Joan, Phyllis. Back Row: Ross (hidden mostly), Ellis, Troy, Calvin.

There will be more pictures an another time. There are plenty more to see - actually, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
