It's true! It is one of Trisha's, Sandra's and my most humorous of memories! I don't remember it actually...but we get lots of laughs looking at pictures and home movies from those times. I don't think we were really that "poor." Our mother was just being frugal, resourceful and, in this writer's opinion, a tad bit looney.
To this day, I still look at the qualities and values of her life and measure mine by her shadow (however, no child of mine EVER wore bread wrappers for golashes). In her manner of life I find a pattern and anchor for mine.
Here's to you, Mom! I wouldn't be here today without you!
